day 12: ka.'s spot

Chilled from our boat ride, I found a café as soon as I hit the streets - Jill would have stopped for un thé with me, but she was off to Notre Dame link
gotta get going while the going’s good

The Latin Quarter. Haven’t been here in the daytime yet - Jill tells me the Sorbonne is right behind La Musée de Moyen Âge. ahh Sorbonne sighs softly

I am sorely tempted to go and see the tapestries, but I can’t bring myself to go in - Jill had resisted the urge when she was here a week ago - had saved it for us to do together - and so will I when we return again to Paris

Came across the most beautiful botanical garden within the medieval enclosure took lots of pics for Jill

and then: found the Brasserie Balzar Sat in the front window, facing Musée de Cluny, with the Sorbonne at my right elbow - shiver

Brasserie Balzar

Tried to order un vin chaud (not sure if it was the time of day, or perhaps my window perch wasn’t licensed) - so had a chocolat chaud instead and a tarte tartine -> hadn’t tried that yet.

Truth be told: I had specifically seeked out this spot. This was where Camus and Sartre had had their last argument.

Camus! arguing with Sartre! - shiver

Its description reads as:

the faithful clientele, old wood panelling and mirrors, and long white aprons create an ambiance that makes this one of the best brasseries in Paris

Perfect spot to while away my last hours in Paris, indeed.
